New Year. Same Me.

New Year. Same Me. Don't get me wrong, I learned a lot in 2016, I was challenged. I made mistakes. I had beautiful moments. I had ugly moments … but you know what? It was all me. The greatest thing about this life is the fact that, Lord willing, we get a fresh start every day to go out and accomplish the things that set our hearts on fire. I sat down over the last few weeks and evaluated last year, my blog and where I want it to go. I had to get real with myself and really decide what direction I want to take my blog. A year ago, when I started, I started for fun, because I love writing and I equally love fashion.

While I shared some fun looks with you and cute outfits, I didn't feel like I gave you 100% of myself or what I envision for the blog. I am a writer. I'm funny. I'm a little weird at times (my husband would say all the time). I cuss a little. I smile a lot. I have a voice … And with that voice, I started plotting and planning. Within a few hours, my goals for 2017 were clear and in written form; posted in place that I can go back a review often. The New Year for me isn't about changing who I am, but it is about creating goals that will challenge me, make me better and fulfill what I want out of life. I plan on knocking them out of the park. I'll let you know in 365 days (or so) how I did.

SO, What's Next?

Do I want to just focus on fashion? Am I an #OOTD kind of blogger? Do I really want to stress about linking everything I am wearing? Will all of my posts be sponsored? The answer to all of these questions was a resounding "NO". It's just not me and didn't feel authentic to the direction that I want to take my blog.  Don't worry, I'll absolutely be sharing looks and where to find them, but it'll be in a way that feels true to me. I also don't want to just talk about fashion or superficial things. There's some real life ish going on in my life and the people around me, and I think we ought to talk about it. Don't worry, I'm not a political writer. You won't find that here. But the real stuff like: relationships, divorce, sex, kids, the annoying room mom, single life (I'm a few years removed, but I still remember boo, boo!)

This year, I look forward to sharing my voice a little bit louder and clearer. I'm still all about fashion, but the editorial writer in me has a little more to give. I am not the type to share my every move, so stay tuned for some exciting new content this week that I think you will love.

Thanks so much for following along with me. I created a couple hashtags that you can follow along with on social media: #stephSTYLEDit #STJtravels (I'll be adding to those once I get the new content up).

Wanna chat? You can fill out the CONTACT form or shoot me an EMAIL, I'd love to hear from you. As always, thanks so much for stopping by the blog! I love you guys!
